Gosforth Academy Sixth Form French Exchange Sixth Form students have just returned from an unforgettable French exchange in Gap, nestled in the beautiful HautesAlpes region! During the week, students immersed themselves in French language and culture, living with host families, exploring local life, attending an ice hockey match, and spending time in French schools. They even helped teach simple English lessons in local primary classes, gaining confidence, independence and valuable communication skills along the way. It was a truly enriching experience that many have described as a highlight of their Sixth Form journey so far. Exciting sustainability developments are underway at Gosforth Academy. We're delighted to share that Gosforth Academy has been selected to take part in the GB Solar Energy Programme, bringing a range of cleanenergy upgrades to the academy. From a major solar panel installation and full LED lighting upgrade to new EV charging points and advanced energymonitoring sensors, these improvements will help us cut emissions, lower energy bills, and reinvest savings directly into the student experience. Over the lifetime of the project, the Academy is expected to save more than 1,456 tonnes of CO. This partnership will also give students handson learning opportunities around renewable energy and climate issues, helping to build awareness, skills and confidence for the future. Inspiring Enrichment Across Gosforth Group! Last week, Year 10 students from North Gosforth Academy attended the world premiere of 'Weird' at Newcastle Theatre Royal, a bold new musical reimagining Macbeth through the eyes of the iconic Weird Sisters. With Year 10 students set to be assessed on Macbeth in their final English Literature GCSE exam, this experience offered a powerful and engaging way to deepen their understanding of key themes, characters, and plot developments. Our students represented the academy and Trust brilliantly, fully engaged, thoughtful, and inspired by seeing Shakespeare brought to life in such a creative way. Experiences like this are part of our wider commitment to broadening horizons, enriching learning, and fostering a love of culture and the arts across all Gosforth Group academies. German Enrichment Day with the Munich Supercrew! Great Park Academy were thrilled to host the amazing Munich Supercrew last week for a special German enrichment event, and it was electric from start to finish. Students kicked off the day learning German in fun, interactive sessions, then wrapped it up by joining a full-on German rock concert right here in school! The academy also welcomed four other schools to share in the experience, making it a brilliant celebration of language, music, and culture. North Gosforth Academy Student STEM Adventure at Nucastle! North Gosforth Academy Year 7 students took their Science, Technology, English, and Maths skills to the next level with an incredible trip to Nucastle in partnership with the NU Foundation. From designing and building moving robots to battling it out in their own Robot Wars-style competition, creativity and innovation were in full swing! To top it off, they enjoyed an hour in Nucastle's state-of-the-art gaming suite, going head-to-head with friends in an epic online gaming session.
