View PostStudents Inspired by Paralympian Antony Cotterill Last week, we were delighted to welcome two-time Paralympian Antony Cotterill to Gosforth Academy for an inspiring sports event. Antony represented Great Britain at both the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. He shared his experiences and motivated students through his remarkable sporting journey. The event brought together students from various schools across our Trust, offering them the opportunity to learn from an elite athlete. Students took part in a series of sporting challenges and had the chance to refine their tennis skills through coaching activities and team games. The session encouraged teamwork and determination, while providing valuable insight into the dedication required to succeed in elite sport. Reflecting on the event, Osama, a Year 10 student, said: "Antony was so inspiring. I loved getting to hear his story." Fellow Year 10 student Riley added: "Antony's story helped me learn about resilience and how to persevere when things are challenging." The event was a fantastic opportunity for students from across the Trust to come together, develop new skills and be inspired by Antony's achievements both on and off the court. #GosforthAcademy #AthletesIntoSchools #Paralympics #Inspiration #Resilience #Teamwork #GosforthGroup #StudentSuccess #creatingfutures
