    Senior Improvement and Aspirations Lead

Graham is Gosforth Group’s Senior Improvement and Aspirations Lead, bringing extensive experience in education leadership and school improvement. He has previously held senior roles within both Gosforth Academy and North Gosforth Academy, and rejoined the Group following a successful career in national and trust-level education leadership.

Graham served as one of His Majesty’s Inspectors of Schools at Ofsted, where he held a regional leadership role focused on safeguarding. He continues to contribute to the inspectorate as a contracted lead inspector, alongside his strategic work within the Gosforth Group.

Prior to his return, Graham was the secondary school improvement lead for a large multiphase academy trust, supporting over 12,000 pupils. His work included designing and delivering trust-wide initiatives in key areas such as reading, attendance, sixth form, alternative provision, and support for disadvantaged pupils. During his tenure, two of the trust’s secondary schools were judged outstanding in all categories by Ofsted.

Graham is nationally recognised for his work in careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG). As a Gatsby Benchmark Champion, he has worked closely with the Gatsby Charitable Foundation to shape and promote the updated Gatsby Benchmarks for Good Careers Guidance. His work has been showcased nationally and continues to influence best practice across the sector.

A passionate advocate for pupil engagement and equity, Graham is committed to using careers education as a lever for school improvement and to developing effective strategies that support disadvantaged learners.
