‘Create your future’ encapsulates our purpose as a Multi-Academy Trust: to educate, support, and nurture all of our students so they can achieve their potential and fulfil their ambitious aspirations.

We are extremely proud of what we have achieved so far, and as a collective group, we have an ambitious vision for future growth. The Gosforth Group comprises six academies, providing education to approximately 6,000 students in middle, secondary, and post-16 settings across Newcastle upon Tyne and North Tyneside.

We employ over approx. 650 colleagues across the group, who are responsible for creating and sustaining a culture of empowerment, growth and unrivalled support, making the Gosforth Group a special place to both work and learn.

About the role

Gosforth Group requires an enthusiastic and proactive HR business partner to play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of proactive and forward-thinking HR operational advice and support services across the Trust.

This is a unique opportunity to join us at an exciting time as we plan to grow and further develop our central HR function to support the continued provision of an efficient and effective Trust-wide HR service and facilitate the Trust’s growth aims.

What we are looking for

You'll be an experienced HR professional who understands how to achieve our Trust vision through the provision of excellent HR operational advice and support service, working in partnership with academy leadership teams on all employee relations matters, ensuring timely and effective resolution, and supporting leaders through Trust/Academy change programmes.

You will be a confident communicator, able to communicate with diverse audiences, with proven experience in all aspects of operational HR delivery, a sound understanding of employment legislation, and the ability to translate legislation effectively into your practice. You will ensure that any organisational risks are identified and well managed.

You will have experience effectively managing your own ER caseload and the ability to contribute to and support HR-related projects, driving change and improvement throughout the academies you support.

You will have a calm, organised nature, with the ability to work professionally to strict deadlines, responding effectively and efficiently to challenges, bringing vision and drive to make things happen.

The successful candidate must be able to manage their time effectively to ensure they regularly visit the academy they support, maintain positive and successful working relationships with colleagues across the Trust, and spend time with the central HR team to support project work. Therefore, you must be comfortable working as part of a team and independently.

Finally, the safety of our pupils is paramount. Therefore, the successful post holder must be committed to child protection and safeguarding.
