  • Gosforth Academy Celebrates Outstanding GCSE Results

We are thrilled to share in our students’ celebrations this morning following another year of exceptional GCSE results.ion for your news story here.

Gosforth Academy is a traditional school with longstanding success, and I am delighted to say that this year’s GCSE cohort have continued to replicate that tradition by achieving a superb set of results.

Today marks a significant milestone in their education, and they now look forward to exciting next steps.

Preit Chahal, Principal, expressed his delight at the results this morning and commented, “We are incredibly proud of all of our students' GCSE achievements. It’s fair to say this year group has had its challenges with missing out on vital development during the Covid years. Their commitment and resilience have been inspiring, and they fully deserve today's success. It is fantastic to see so many of them enrol into our Sixth Form today to study a wide range of A-Level and vocational subjects, alongside many new students from across the North. It is also great to see some students move on to take up apprenticeships, training courses and specialist college courses. At Gosforth Academy, we are committed to creating futures, and today’s results demonstrate how ready our students are to seize the opportunities ahead of them.”

Some brief headline figures of Gosforth Academy’s outstanding results include:

    • 77% of students achieved Grade 4+ grades in English and Maths compared to a National of 67%.
    • 80% of students achieved a Grade 4+ in two Science subjects.
    • 290 Grade 9s were awarded across the cohort!
    • The average grade for all entries was 5.4 compared to a National of 4.6.

Numerous exceptional performances have been recorded, including an impressive 34 students who received an average grade of 8 or more across all subjects. However, special mention must go to Isla Cook and Zein Nassar, who managed an exceptional clean sweep of Grade 9s! Irrespective of grades, we are immensely proud of all of our students who have achieved the grades they need to take them to their next stage.

We would also like to recognise and thank our teaching and support staff, as well as the Year 11 parents and carers, for their unwavering support. The strong partnerships between the school and families have allowed our students to flourish.

Together, we celebrate our students' achievements and outcomes with great pride, and we look forward to seeing what they will accomplish in the next stage of their journey.
